Its almost 4 am and like any regular night, I'm not sleeping yet. I'm actually watching one of my childhood favorite moves:
The Secret Garden. GREAT movie. When i was younger all I wanted was my own secret garden. anyhow, thats beyond the point of this blog.
I haven't gotten a chance to write considering I was in NYC last week! YAY! I went to visit my best friend Shannon. It was a blast, but I can tell you one thing, for someone who hates walking, I don't like the city all that much. It was still a great time, I got to meet all of shannon's friends and what-not. I have a few funny stories to share. first of all, I ended up getting the middle seat on the plane. Not the best time in the world, I went to sleep at 4am the night before (the usual) and had to be up at 8. I got on the plane and had a girl to my left and a man on my right. The girl was sniffling and sneezing uncontrollably, not to mention she popped a couple prescription drugs and then 3 or 4 Benedryl. I just kept glancing at her wondering WHAT was wrong with her.. like okay, am i going to get SARS or something? she looked at me after ordering gingerale and said "Don't worry, I'm not sick, I just have terrible allergies." i was polite and just giggled and nodded. HM, and now I'm wondering why I can't stop sneezing. of course.
story number 2: we went to the bar and as you can imagine, partied like we always do... and the bar doesnt close until 4am in New York. we drank and had a great time with all of her friends and yada yada. so anyways, we left the bar smelling wonderful goodness coming from the stands on the sides of the streets and were convinced: MCDONALDS. we went to hail a cab as some maybe... say... 40year-old? man asked if I wanted a bite of his shwarma. I said no and he just wouldnt leave me alone and offered to take us to the cafeteria.. here I am, drunk, saying "what cafeteria you idiot, we are in NYC" well, its a restaurant. so we still said no and Shannon is being Shannon and telling him "get us a cab, and pay for it" and he says no... until his friend who is sayyyy 24ish hails a freakin LIMO? who knew you could hail a limo in new york city. so we finally say screw it lets go and we get in with them and say we need to go to whatever streets by where we live, and where do they take us? the whole OTHER direction. we told the limo driver to turn around but he didnt? so okay they tell us theres this diner by their apt that we can eat at and we are saying okay okay no big deal... where do we end up? the lobby to their apt building!!! i looked at them in disgust saying, we arent hookers, sorry. and we left! haha mind you shannon told the cab driver who was taking us home that we only had ten dollars and he pretty much got us home in 2 seconds. great. long story short, those guys paid 80 bucks on jack shit... they could've baught like 2 hookers for that price! HA!
Story number 3: so we decided since shannon isnt allowed overnight visitors we would stay at her friend vanessa's place... who pays $3000/month for her apt. i told her id pay her like $125 for letting me stay there because, yes, that is a generous offer for her to let us crash at her place. well, Shannon's room-mate was moving out and left her ID card for us to use in the cafeteria just in case we needed something to eat and we figured, hell, why not use it so we dont have to go to Vanessa's every night? So it worked... well come day 3, Vanessa calls shannon up asking for her money and we are like "well, since we only stayed there one night for like 4 hours we will give you like $40" and she goes, "NO you have to give me the $125, I need that money!" and all this other stuff about how we promised her this money (psycho) so we refused and she threatened to get the school involved (meaning TELLING on us for sneaking me in!) so we go out that night like okay screw her w/e let her do what she wants, and what happens.. my very last night in NYC, we get CAUGHT! so we get kicked out of the dorm and shannon loses her visiting rights... wait, theres more. SO we figure okay I can get a hotel for the night, not too big of a deal.... what happens next? you have to be 21 years old to book a HOTEL! so we figure, okay we can just walk around until 8 in the morning in big ol' NYC in the middle of winter... long story short, we slept in Penn Station with the homeless people!! yeah... i know... and we did sudoku. even better right?
well... thats NYC.. but i have written the longest blog in the history of writing... but anywho. its time for bed!
